Linocut Wall Art

Project name and description

Project name and description

Art. Such a small word for something that encompasses so much.

cinegirl linocut

Originally from Dorset, Shelley moved to Somerset 17 years ago after starting her design career in London. She studied a Bachelor of Honours Arts Degree in Graphic Design at Exeter College of Art and Design. Since then she has worked in the design industry for more than 20 years for clients such as Yo! Sushi, Usborne, Audi, Porsche and Lloyds.

All of her prints are handmade, making each piece totally unique. She now only produces five signed prints of any given design and uses a mixture of block and reduction methods with her linocut work.

She has also turned her artwork into striking statement pieces by printing

on to huge aluminium substrate sheets. Shelley’s ideas and designs come from influences she sees day-to-day across social media and popular cultures past

and present. She's been identified as having an urban street art element in regard to her artworks. It's Linocut,

but with an edge.

A year later and she has recently won the prestigious 21st NOA’s Original Print Prize with Cinegirl. The biggest Open Art Competition in the UK with over 4000 entrants.

The winning entry was exhibited at The Bargehouse, Oxo Tower, Wharf and as a grand finale, exhibited at the critically acclaimed Pallant House Gallery, home to one of the best collections of Modern British Art in the UK.
